    Rosewood Miramar Beach

Take your SoCal vacation to the next level at the Rosewood Miramar Beach, a stunning beachfront resort in the Montecito neighborhood of Santa Barbara, California. Located directly on Miramar Beach, the sprawling property offers something for everyone: from beach houses that open to the ocean and bungalows with gorgeous garden views to family and pet-friendly programming to luxury dining options, retail offerings (goop fans, get ready) and a world-class spa.

    Location:

There’s no getting closer to the beach than at this ultra-luxury resort, which is situated on the beautiful shores of Miramar Beach, only a 15-minute drive from Santa Barbara airport. (And just about two hours from LAX.) The property was once the home of Miramar by the Sea, a private residence-turned-resort in the latter half of the last century. Owned by Caruso, a real estate and hospitality development company, and managed by Rosewood Hotels & Resorts, it’s Rosewood’s first foray into Southern California.

    Vibe:

If you’re looking for a beach vacation paired with laid-back luxury, you’ll find it here. The 161 rooms and suites feature well-appointed furnishings and the entire resort offers a “residential-style” feel, with accommodations throughout the property. That means you can stay in the Manor House, which include rooms and suites with ocean views (you can actually book the entire space for a totally private experience), in one of the Bungalows or Lanai House rooms, which are situated on 16 acres and have amazing views, or in one of the 26 Beach Houses, which are (as you probably guessed) right on the beach itself—and come complete with monogrammed robes and pillowcases.

    Why we love it:

There’s so much to love about this impressive property—not least of which is the seamless combination of the new and modern, with nods to the past and the opulence of the resort’s history. The inspiring art collection—there are 600-plus pieces—includes originals by Norman Rockwell and Fernando Botero, while the on-site fleet of cars features the resort’s signature Rolls Royce Ghost and three “Jollys,” a sort of souped-up golf cart, only bigger—and much more colorful. (We mean it: think pink and yellow.) And as true fans of relaxing, beach vacations know, it doesn’t get much better than this: There are a slew of daily activities on the beach, as well as butler service—and, if you stay at one of the beach houses, an evening cocktail trolley, which not only sounds like an amazing vacation amenity, but possibly an amazing life amenity, too. With two pools, bocce courts, shuffleboard and kid-specific activities, there’s plenty to do. As far as dining goes, there are seven on-site spots for a bite or a drink, including at Caruso’s, a high-end Italian restaurant overlooking the water. Also cool? There are lots of wellness offerings, from guided hikes and sunset yoga to a 24-hour fitness center to a goop store and Sense, A Rosewood Spa.

    Why you should Go F1RST:

Plus, if available, you can maximize your time away with early check-in and late check-out.
