    Club Med Québec Charlevoix

At this new, all-inclusive Club Med property overlooking the St. Lawrence River in Québec—which opens in early December 2021—you’ll get way more than just a ski resort: The gorgeous 300-acre mountain resort is yours to experience in all seasons and all year long, with activities from skiing and snowboarding to kayaking and hiking. Add in lux amenities, lots of family-friendly perks, and plenty of wellness options (think: morning at the spa, afternoon by the heated pool), and you’ve just taken your vacation to a whole new level.

    Location:

Set against a background of both mountains and the St. Lawrence River—a rare combo!— nature and the outdoors truly shine at this resort in the Charlevoix area of Québec, Club Med’s 19th ski resort worldwide (!) and first in Canada. It’s about an hour outside the city of Québec—so you can easily add some city life to your trip, too—with the Québec airport about an hour and a half ride away. If you opt to come from Montreal, it’s about a four-hour drive.

    Vibe:

With a vibe that’s at once welcoming and distinctly lux, elements from nature and the deeply rooted culture of the surrounding area are incorporated throughout the impeccably designed property. There are 302 rooms, many of which offer views of the St. Lawrence River and fully-furnished balconies, along with options for both inter-connecting and family rooms. With bright pops of color, many of the design highlights spotlight the region’s First Nation heritage. (The way the white dreamcatcher headboard stands out against the blue wall behind it is particularly stunning.) One of our favorite offerings? The 25 suites in the Le Saint-Laurent Exclusive Collection space, the largest of which, the Family Suite, has two bedrooms, a separate living room, balcony, and amazing views of the water from its oversize windows.

    Why We Love It:

From the location to the amenities, there’s so much about this resort that truly stands out. And as an all-inclusive property, all of that is at your fingertips, with everything from meals—including drinks—to activities covered. When it comes to dining, there are a variety of options, including Le Marché, which offers five different dining rooms that each, “celebrates one of the basic elements of gastronomy, such as hunting, fishing, agriculture, foraging, and livestock farming.” For a drink, there are two bars, while families will love the kid-friendly Terroir & Co for dinner. Speaking of kids, the resort is particularly family-friendly, featuring childcare options for kids as young as 4 months old—with the service totally included (read: no extra cost!) for kids between 4 years old and 17 years old. Mini Club Med for 4 to 11-year-olds, for instance, not only offers evening hours but tons of activities, too, with a whole separate

program for teens to take advantage of. On the activity front, there are lots to keep you busy, no matter when you visit—from skiing and snowboarding (there are 53 slopes, and lessons are included!) to ice skating, hiking, and fitness classes—as well as a signature spa and off-resort excursions, like a train ride along the river. Also cool? The eco-minded resort is working towards its Green Globe certification, with programs already in the works that help with food waste and energy-efficient buildings. And as we mentioned earlier, be sure to consider the Le Saint-Laurent Exclusive Collection space, which sits at the top of the resort, for even more lux features, including the use of a terrace with a whirlpool, a concierge, a private ski equipment room just for Exclusive Collection guests, and priority activity bookings, all topped with a daily evening Champagne.

    F1S Tips:

Be sure to make a stop at the pool, especially with kids: Along with the larger, 75-foot heated pool, there is a shallower, perfect-for-kids sized one, along with teepees set up nearby that make for a great play area. And for adults, the poolside hammocks can’t be beaten.
