    Nobu Hotel Santorini

Opened in the early summer of 2022, Nobu Hotel Santorini marks the Nobu Matsuhisa, Robert De Niro, and Meir Teper-founded company’s first property in Greece—and 26th hotel globally—offering guests striking sea views while putting food and dining at the forefront. Rounding out the experience at the 25-suite hotel is a dual-level infinity pool and a location that makes it a good starting point for exploring all of what the island has to offer.

    Location:

Located on the Greek island of Santorini, this coastal property envelops guests in its gorgeous natural surroundings—from the high cliffs to the views of the  Volcano and Aegean Sea to its spot just off the Oia-Fira hiking trail, a 10km trail between the towns of Oia and Fira. Set in the charming village of Imerovigli, it offers a more secluded and relaxed setting than neighboring places, like the island’s capital city of Fira and is an amazing vantage point to view the caldera. It’ll take just 20 minutes to arrive at the hotel from the airport or about 30 minutes if you’re coming via the ferry port. If you want to explore the island, you are about 10 minutes from the town of Oia, and 15 from Fira.

    Vibe:

A laid-back lux vibe permeates the property, which sticks to a neutral color palette of white, gray, black and tan. Open to guests 14 years old and up, the hotel has just 25 suites and villas, some of which have their own plunge pools—and all of which offer sea views. For space to spread out, consider one of the 5, two-level villas, each with its own gardens and outdoor areas or the Nobu Suite, the largest of the suites, which has a separate bedroom and private veranda. Want romance? The hotel dubbed their two-level Yuhi Suite, with its secluded terrace and pool as the most romantic.

    Why We Love It:

If eating well and relaxing by the pool are two musts for your vacation, this hotel definitely delivers—and then some. First, of course, is dining, which you can already guess is top-notch, particularly with executive chef Ricardo Marin, an alumnus of Nobu Hotel London Shoreditch and Nobu Jeddah just to name a few, at the helm. The hotel’s restaurant, Nobu Santorini, features a large, open-air space and boasts iconic views and serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with breakfast running until noon. (It is vacation, after all.) Find many of the favorites you’ve come to expect from Nobu, like black cod miso, along with dishes like wagyu dumplings, rock shrimp tempura, and local specialties like kagianas, an egg-feta-and tomato breakfast dish.

The food isn’t the only thing we love about the property. On the relaxation end, there is a dual-level infinity pool, overlooking the sea, where you can stretch out on one of the lux sunbeds or go for an in-room spa service (Our recommendation: do both!) Poolside you’ll also find music and entertainment. Want a workout? Head to the on-site gym or hike down to Oia along a volcanic trail —a must-try activity. The trail gives you a chance to explore the “volcanic nature” of the island and take in the quaint town of Oia. The hotel can also set up various experiences for you, like olive oil tasting—practically a requirement while in Greece.
