    Casa Cipriani

Housed in the historic Battery Maritime Building in lower Manhattan, Casa Cipriani flawlessly combines private club with the sophisticated hotel, offering guests an exclusive and elevated experience, punctuated by signature dining, a massive health and wellness space, and unparalleled views of some of New York City’s most iconic landmarks.

    Location:

This hotel has a special home: It’s located in the Battery Maritime Building, a historic ferry terminal in lower Manhattan, in the city’s financial district. First built in the early 1900s, the Beaux Arts-style building—which offers views of the East River, Statue of Liberty and the Brooklyn Bridge—still serves as a terminal for the Governor’s Island ferry and is an easy access point to the rest of the city, too. The hotel is a short 3-minute walk from the Downtown Manhattan Heliport, which in turn is a quick 5 or 6 minute right from all of New York’s major airports. If driving, it’s about half an hour from LaGuardia airport and an hour from JFK.

    Vibe:

Sophisticated and refined, with a classic New York vibe, the interiors were restored and designed by architect Thierry Despont, who was also responsible for the restoration of the Statue of Liberty and the design of the Carlyle Hotel. The hotel includes 47 rooms and suites, many with private terraces overlooking the East River. Two of the most popular: The one-bedroom corner Liberty Suite, which has a separate living room and bedroom, along with river views, and the one-bedroom Garden Suite, also with separate living and bedroom—and a grand patio overlooking the city. When you want to truly go all-out, consider one of the two Presidential suites, both of which have wraparound terraces, Loro Piana cashmere fabrics, dining rooms for up to 10, and (of course) gorgeous views.

    Why We Love It:

Cipriani’s fourgeneration history, from Harry’s Bar in Venice to their outposts around the world, is evident at this hotel—and then taken to the next level. What makes this space particularly unique is the coming together of the hotel and private club. While the club is only open to members, hotel guests have access to its full slate of amenities during their stay. And the amenities are incredible: Located on the building’s 5th floor (the hotel is on the 3rd and 4th), Casa Cipriani Club features multiple dining and entertainment spaces, including the Club restaurant, which is great for all-day eats. The Living Room, which offers a bar menu, and the Jazz Cafe both stay open late. Live music and entertainment, as well as arts and cultural programming, are all on tap. There are also outdoor terraces on both the east and west sides of the building, where you can take in the amazing views, with a 6th-floor rooftop venue that should be ready by the spring of 2022. The hotel also features a massive 15,000-square-foot health center with a gym and fitness studio, offering personal training as well as wellness experiences like red light therapy and cryotherapyAlso good to know? There are multiple spaces for events and meetings, including the spectacular Cipriani South Street, with its private arrival foyer, seating for as many as 800 (!!), and outdoor loggia.
