    Conrad Tulum Riviera Maya

Long known as a bohemian destination for boutique hotels and romantic getaways, Conrad Tulum Riviera Maya bridges the gap between the boho-chic and ultra-modern hotels in the area to offer a new option—one that’s ideal for families and friend getaways. As Hilton’s first luxury property in the Mexican Caribbean, the resort embraces the spirit of the Riviera Maya while bringing an elevated level of service.

    Location:

On the Yucatan coast of the Riviera Maya, the Conrad Tulum Riviera Maya offers beachfront beauty on a secluded bay. As expected from a beachfront resort, the views of the water do not disappoint, but equally as impressive are the lush mangroves and tropical greenery that surround it. An hour and a half from the CUN airport, once at the hotel, you’re about half an hour from most of the off-site activities and attractions in Tulum, such as the city’s downtown and the Tulum Archaeological Zone.

    Vibe:

The resort sets the scene the minute you walk into the lobby, where you are greeted by a stunning hand-made macrame installation created with over 7,000 individual strings. From there, art by local artisans as well as nature-inspired elements of wood, earth, and stone can be seen throughout the resort, which helps create a sense of place. The organic palette of the resort perfectly complements the contemporary components of the design. Perhaps what is most special though, is the secluded bay, which hugs the resort’s seven guest buildings and maximizes the ocean vistas, allowing the Caribbean waters to be the focal point of the resort. Each of the 349 rooms features floor-to-ceiling windows, private balconies, and a plunge pool or outdoor soaking tub. For those looking for a more spacious option, suites featuring living room space and an adjacent dining space are available, also with connecting room options. Later in the year, the resort will also unveil its Presidential Suite.

    Why We Love It:

It’ll be hard to tear yourself away from lounging around the resort’s five oceanfront pools (that includes an adult’s only section with adjacent private beach) or sunbathing on the beach. But for those looking for more activity, there are wellness classes, like spinning, yoga and sound bathing, and water activities, including snorkeling and paddleboarding, as well as motorized water sport options. Also of note is the spa, which offers 16 spacious rooms and incorporates Mayan-inspired treatments. And for little travelers? Don’t miss the kids club or babysitting services. If you are looking to go offsite, the property can help set you up with excursions like swimming in a cenote or exploring the ruins of Tulum or Chichen Itza. Make sure to come back to the resort to enjoy the variety of dining options, from elevated Mexican to Mediterranean to teppanyaki to sushi; the resort offers 11 dining options for keeping your taste buds happy.
